Freaky thingsss

Hunger overcame Rick. He needed to fill his empty stomach with something. Scanning the dense forest, he noticed a twisted tree with plump, round purple fruit. His mouth watered and his appetite was aroused.
“H-hey, Dan. Help me reach that tree.” Rick called over to Dan for he was much taller than himself. Dan looked at the tree and his eyebrows furrowed.
“I don’t think you should be eating fruit from strange plants, especially in this tricky forest.” Rick thought about the strange purple fruit. Hunger or possibly risk his life eating the fruit. A little bite shouldn’t hurt.
“Nah, it’s okay. I’ll just take a little bit just to be safe. Pleeeeease!”
“Ahh, fine. Get on my back…” The Aerodactyl lowered his body so that the Riolu could climb up. Rick stretched his arms towards the fruit and plucked it from the branch.
“Hey, why did you guys stop, we hafta—hey!” roared the Zorua. Rick jolted from the shout, almost dropping the fruit.
“Don’t even eat that thing! You don’t know what it does.”
“I was sort of hoping it would fill my stomach…” Rick was still startled from the shout.
“No. No. No! The fruit will do funny things to you! Freaky things, do not eat it.” Zorua grabbed the fruit and crushed it with her paws. “You’re better off eating grass.” Rick looked at the crushed fruit as his stomach grumbled louder.

I tried to make the forest look mysterious but it didn't come out the way I expected.
